EU Takes the Next Step in Retaliation for U.S. Steel Tariffs

On the 17th, Beijing time, the European Union reinforced its plan to levy retaliatory tariffs in response to President Trump's plan to impose steel tariffs on the grounds of national security.

The European Commission has issued a law that is expected to impose a 25% tariff on 2.8 billion euros (3.3 billion U.S. dollars) of U.S. goods as of June 20. The committee also threatened that if the United States imposes a 25% tariff on other EU steel products and imposes a 10% tariff on EU aluminum, it may increase retaliatory actions in the subsequent stages.
