January 17, the Indonesian Ministry of Industry said in a statement that the South Korean MBG Group has started on January 2 to build a nickel smelter in North Konawe, Sulawesi, Indonesia. The Indonesian Ministry of Industry said it expects construction to be completed within two years with a capital inflow of 76 trillion rupees (about 5.69 billion U.S. dollars).
